Enjoy all the benefits and features of Apple Pay™ with Members First Credit Union of Florida. When you add your Members First debit or credit card account to Apple Pay™, you can use your supported iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch to make purchases at the register. Or, make purchases in app or online with your supported Mac, iPhone, or iPad. It's simple, safe, and convenient.

Apple Pay™ does not store your account information on your device or give your card number to the merchant. It sends a unique, encrypted, device account number so, your account is never accessible to the retailer.

Using Apple Pay™

Apple Pay is easy and works with the Apple devices you use every day. You can make contactless, secure purchases in stores, in apps, and on the web. And you can send and receive money from friends and family right in Messages. Apple Pay is a safer way to pay, and even simpler than using your physical card.

Step 1

Look for the Pay Wave® or Apple Pay™ icons at checkout.
 

Step 2

Place your device near the contactless reader and use your passcode, Touch ID®, or Face ID® if prompted.
 

Step 3

Keep your phone by the reader and wait for the subtle vibration or beep that indicates the payment has been received.

What is Apple Pay™?

Apple Pay™ is a digital wallet that allows you to pay for purchases with an Apple device at participating merchants.

How does Apple Pay™ work?

Apple Pay™ uses Near Field Communications (NFC) to transfer data between two devices. When you use a compatible Apple device, you can make purchases with your mobile device using your passcode, fingerprint, or facial recognition to verify a purchase. It also works online with participating apps.

What is a contactless payment?

A contactless payment is a transaction that uses chip-based technology and requires no physical contact between the payment device (a card or mobile device) and the physical merchant terminal.

Does Members First Credit Union of Florida charge for using Apple Pay™?

No. The service is free, however message and data rates may apply depending on your data plan.

What devices can I use with Apple Pay™?

  • iPhone models with Face ID

How do I add my Members First payment card to Apple Pay™?

To add your Members First credit or debit card to Apple Pay™, you'll need a compatible device with the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, or macOS.

How to add your Members First payment card on your iPhone.

  1. In the Passbook/Wallet® app, tap the add (+) button.
  2. Tap Debit or Credit Card to add a new card or tap Previous Cards to add a card that you used previously.
  3. Position your card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information or enter it manually.
  4. Enter the security code found on the back of your card and fill in any remaining fields.
  5. Verify that all information is correct.
  6. If you have a paired Apple Watch, you have the option to also add the card to your watch.

How to add your Members First payment card on your Apple Watch.

  1. On your paired iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
  2. In the My Watch tab, tap Wallet & Apple Pay™.
  3. Tap Debit or Credit to add a new card or tap Previous Card to add a card that you used previously.
  4. Position your card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information or enter it manually.
  5. Enter the security code found on the back of your card and fill in any remaining fields.

How to add your Members First payment card for Apple Pay on your iPad or Mac.

  1. Open the Wallet settings on your device.
    • On your Mac model with Touch ID, go to System Preferences, then navigate to Wallet & Apple Pay™.
    • On your iPad, go to Settings, then navigate to Wallet & Apple Pay™.
  2. Tap Add Card
  3. Follow the steps on the screen to add your card.

If requested, follow additional steps to verify your card. After you confirm your Members First debit or credit card has been added to your compatible device(s), you are ready to use Apple Pay™.

Why am I being asked to verify my Members First card?

For security reasons, you may need to provide additional verification to add your Members First card to Apple Pay™. If necessary, Passbook/Wallet or the Apple Watch app will instruct you on how to verify your card.

When your information is verified, you should receive a Passbook/Wallet or Apple Watch app notification that your card is ready for Apple Pay™. If you have not received a notification after an hour, call:

What Members First Credit Union of Florida cards can I add to Apple Pay™?

Apple Pay™ works with your Members First credit card and debit card.

What is a default card on Apple Pay™?

Your default card is the card that is automatically used each time you make a purchase through Apple Pay™.

How do I set my Members First card as my default card on Apple Pay™?

Setting your Members First debit or credit card to be your default card is simple, and you only have to do it once.

  1. Go to Settings and navigate to Passbook® & Apple Pay™
  2. Tap Default Card selection
  3. Choose your Members First card as your default

Note: The first card you add to Apple Pay™ will automatically be your default card. This can be updated at any time.

How secure is an Apple Pay™ transaction?

For your security, when you make a purchase using Apple Pay™, you must use your Touch ID, Face ID, or Passcode for your device. In addition, Apple Pay™ does not store your card number on your phone and does not give your card number to the merchant. Instead, a unique digital code or token is created specifically for your device. And as always, transactions are monitored by Members First Credit Union of Florida's risk and fraud detection systems.

What if I find unauthorized transactions on the card I use with Apple Pay™?

Members First Credit Union of Florida works hard to prevent our members from risk or fraud. Go here for information on disputing a credit card transaction. Members who are enrolled in ezcardinfo.com may also dispute a charge there. For information on disputing a debit card transaction, please go here.

What if my actual Members First credit card or debit card is lost or stolen?

If your Members First credit or debit card is stolen, you should:

What do I do if my Apple device is stolen?

  • Contact Apple, go to icloud.com/find, or use the Find My Phone app to suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay from that device with Apple Pay™. Your cards will be removed from Apple Pay™ even if your device is offline and not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network.
  • Contact our credit and/or debit card processor's Digital Wallet Support to suspend your device.

Can I still use my physical Members First card if I suspend or remove my card in the Wallet app?

When you suspend or remove your card(s) in Wallet, your device-specific Device Account Number is suspended or removed. You may continue to use your physical card unless the actual card is blocked or closed.

Do I still earn rewards with my Members First credit card when using Apple Pay™?

Yes. For every purchase made with your Members First credit card, you'll earn 1 point for every $1 spent.
