Coronavirus Information & Tips

During this time, as we learn more about the fast-spreading Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Members First Credit Union of Florida is here to ensure that your finances remain secure.  Our main priorities are the health and welfare of our members, staff, and the communities we live and serve in, while also assisting with the financial needs of our members.  Members First has business continuity planning for scenarios such as this.  We will follow the policies and protocols put in place to protect our members and staff while providing continued access to your accounts and financial services. 

Members First Credit Union of Florida will continue to monitor this evolving situation and follow the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  We will provide important updates to our members on our website, Facebook or Twitter, and through email, when appropriate.

Steps We're Taking to Protect our Members & Employees

With the recent announcement of cases in our community, here's what we're doing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19:

  • Effective Monday, July 6, 2020, all Members First branch lobbies will be closed; however, all drive-thru locations will remain open during their normal business hours. If you require a face-to-face meeting, or need to come into the branch for safe boxes and signature guarantee, please call our Members Information Center at 850-434-2211 to schedule an appointment.
  • Per Declaration of State of Emergency 20-03 from Mayor Grover Robinson, every person entering the branch is required to wear a mask or face covering. If you do not have a mask, we ask that you please use our Drive-thru services.  
  • Our Member Information Call Center is available Monday-Friday from 8:30AM - 4:30PM and Closed on Saturdays.
  • Our Night Drops have been converted to Convenience Drops to be checked regularly throughout the day, allowing you to drop off a deposit or make a loan payment without coming into the branch.
  • Our Saturday service at the Pace and 9th Avenue Branches will be limited to drive-thru only service as the lobbies will be closed on Saturdays.
  • We have implemented programs to help you get through this difficult time. Let us know if you are experiencing financial hardship related to COVID-19 by calling (850) 434-2211.

 Take Care of Your Financial Business & Reduce Exposure Risk 

Do you have some banking that you need to get done, but don't want to risk exposure?  You can decrease your exposure by using our electronic delivery services: 

  • Drive-thru Services: With our drive-thru services, you can get balance inquiries, update/add your ID to your account; make deposits, withdrawals, or transfers, pay on your credit card or loan, cash checks, order checks, and more.  See our Drive-thru Services page for a complete list of services.
  • Walk-up & Drive-up ATMs: Enjoy this convenient feature that allows you to withdraw cash from your account anytime.  As an added bonus, our drive-up ATM services at our branches at 251 W. Garden Street, 7176 N. 9th Avenue, 250 W. Airport Boulevard, and 5005 Highway 90, let you to withdraw cash from your account without getting out of your car.  View a list of our Fee-Free ATM locations.
  • Internet Banking: Pay your bills, transfer funds, make loan payments, access eStatements, and monitor your accounts from your home computer whenever it's convenient for you.
  • Internet Bill Pay: Save time and money by paying your bills online for free.  With Internet Bill Pay, there's no need to drive to the post office or spend cash on stamps.
  • eZCard Info: Pay your credit card online and monitor your credit card transactions with eZCard Info.
  • Mobile & Text Banking: Mobile Banking gives you convenient, on-the-go account access that your busy schedule demands. With the Members First mobile app, you can move money, pay bills, monitor your accounts and more, all from your mobile device.
  • Mobile Check Deposit: Save a trip to the branch.  Deposit paper checks from your mobile device with Mobile Check Deposit.  This nifty feature is fully integrated into the Members First Credit Union of Florida mobile app
  • Digital Wallet Services: Our suite of Digital Wallet Services, like Apple Pay™, Android Pay™, and Samsung Pay®, allows you to quickly and securely pay from your mobile device. Also, as part of our Digital Wallet Services, the CardValet® app (for Members First debit cards) and the SecurLOCK Equip® app (for Members First credit cards) gives you control over your card(s) online.  These powerful apps allow you to turn your card on and off before you leave the house, review your account details and transactions, set alerts and spending limits to keep you within budget, and so much more.  The CardValet® app (for Members First debit cards) and the SecurLOCK Equip® app (for Members First credit cards) can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.   
  • Email Us: Generic credit union questions, not containing sensitive account information, may be emailed to mfcufl@mfcufl.org.  
  • Online Applications: Apply for a new loan or credit card, or apply to skip-a-payment on an existing loan online
  • Online Check Ordering: Running low on checks? Order checks online and have them shipped to your home through Harland Clarke.
  • Wire Funds: If you're sending funds to someone within the U.S. territories or abroad, download and complete either our domestic or international wire transfer form online.  Completed form(s) may be sent via fax or mail with Attn: Account Department.  You may also drop-off the completed form to one of our branch locations.

With the spread of COVID-19 on the rise, we understand that the finances of our members may be impacted at this time. If you are experiencing financial strain or hardship, we have a variety of programs available to help, should you need support. Skip-A-Payment

For members with personal or auto loans, we're waiving the application fee, until further notice, for our Skip-a-Payment program. To skip-a-payment, apply online, call (850) 434-2211, or drive-thru one of our branch locations.

Christmas Club Early Withdrawal Forgiveness

Until further notice, we will be waiving the Christmas Club Early Withdrawal Fee for any member who makes a withdrawal from their Christmas Club Account at this time.

Loan Payment Deferrals

We are prepared to work with you on your Members First Credit Union of Florida loan payments. If you have an existing Members First loan(s), and would like to discuss potentially deferring your payment, please contact us at (850) 434-2211.

Mortgage Forbearance

If you have an existing Members First mortgage and are experiencing difficulties paying your mortgage due to this crisis, call us at (850) 434-2211 Ext. 810 to discuss a potential mortgage forbearance.

Coronavirus Relief Loan

We've rolled out a personal loan special to help members adversely affected by COVID-19. Members may borrow up to $5,000 with a fixed rate of 4.99% APR* for up to 36 months. Plus, make No Payments for up to 90 days. To apply, please contact us at (850) 434-2211.

*APR = Annual Percentage Rate. All loans are subject to credit approval. Rates and terms are based on individual credit worthiness. This is a limited time offer. Offer subject to change without notice. Interest will still accrue with the 'No Payments for up to 90 days' offer.

Paycheck Protection Program for Small Businesses

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is no longer accepting new applications.

Scammers are taking advantage of people's fears surrounding COVID-19.  They are setting up websites selling bogus products, offering medical advice to take personal information, and creating fake charities to steal donations.  Here are some tips to avoid the most common COVID-19 scams.  Members First Credit Union of Florida also recommends signing up for consumer alerts from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  If you feel like your Members First account has been compromised, please call (850) 434-2211 to speak with someone in our Member Information Call Center.
